Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) describes multiple ways to communicate that can supplement or compensate (either temporarily or permanently) for the impairment and disability patterns of individuals with severe expressive communication disorders. These online modules will: assist the learner in identification of students with complex communication needs, review AAC WHs, instruct the learner in best practices for creating and selecting a robust vocabulary system, and discuss intervention strategies for AAC use.
This is an online course. The modules are accessible to anyone at any time. Participants will receive full CEU credit hours when module section post-tests are completed with 80% accuracy (8/10 questions answered correctly). A total of .25 hours of CEUs (or 2.5 hours of CLUs) can be earned for completing all AAC Implementation Modules.
